Saline Lakes Ecosystems Project Integrated Science Themes

Detailed Description

A diagram showing the connection between water availability, water quality, saline lake habitats, and bird usage. Water availability drives water quality, which affects saline lake habitats that birds use. Water budget, water use, timing, vulnerability, and water depth are factors in water availability. Dissolved oxygen, salinity, temperature, and nutrients are components of water quality. Wildlife, primary productivity, invertebrates, and food webs are components of saline lake habitats. Bird species, bird timing, bird distribution, and demography are components of bird usage.
